This section relates to adding additional users to an existing ESdat Server installation.
Users will be added or removed from the system by their membership of your organisations Active Directory Groups. More information on this in included in the documentation provided to your IT. You will need to go through your IT to control user access.
Firstly log in to the web interface and confirm your user name and password are working. Retype your user name and password to confirm (rather than rely on any browser pre-population).
Once you’ve confirmed that, and once you have ESdat Desktop installed set your Network Folder (Setup – Network Information) to the same folder as the other users.*
When you restart ESdat and get the startup screen you will see a drop-down at the bottom of that screen that may say “Access Databases” You should be able to select the file with the .dsn extension that is in the Network Folder. You will then be prompted for your user name and password. Once you have entered that, you will see a list of Sites or Projects you have access to. If the list is blank you will need to give yourself access to those Sites or Projects either by clicking “Other” beneath the listing, or else via the web interface.
*If you can’t access that folder obtain (from other users) a local copy of it, and set your Network Folder to that (you will also need to license this PC). That folder will contain a file with a .dsn extension.
