Building Large Chem Table (>255 columns)

Okay, so this is odd, and the only reason I can think of is a RAM issue. I can build large chemistry tables with no problem in either Excel 2010 or 2013. However, my colleague cannot. She gets the following error: "Too many columns are being exported (max of 255 columns in Excel), try exporting less data or use a different data orientation". I have 8GB RAM in my system, while she has only 4GB RAM. Considering that both Excel 2010 and 2013 can handle much more data than 255 columns or rows, I don't see how this could possibly be an issue. Thoughts??

Hello, If you are using ESdat with the SQL Server Upgrade then there is no issue (so long as you have a recent version of Excel). Check your collegue is referencing the same Template as you. Click the "?" button above the finish button when creating a Chem Table. If they are referencing a Template with a ".xls" extension, as opposed to a .xlsm extension then that file only supports 255 columns. They may need to change their Template Path. If you are using ESdat with Access databases then it is an issue, Access doesn't support tables greater than 255 columns wide. Warwick
