Hi,

Using ESdat 5 and when we go to import new data from the lab we always fill out the "Monitoring Round" column. We like this column to have a consistent naming structure based on a grouping of days in the field (a field visit = multiple days of work).

But when we go to import the data we get this error in a cell comment format:

Item cannot be found in the collection corresponding to the requested name or ordinal.

Please help!

Hello Emily,

It's great to see people using that field correctly.

What you have found is a known bug in the Access version of the first releases of ESdat5.1.  However, it is fixed.  Please close ESdat and Excel, uninstall ESdat, and re-download and re-install ESdat.

Regards,

Warwick

Hi again, My IT team has uninstalled ESdat 4 and 5 and then we went to your website and re-installed ESdat 5 from the download link provided from the website. We are still getting the same error message with our Monitoring Round field. So I have two questions: 1) Are there any temporary files or anything that we need to clear before reinstalling? 2) Where does ESdat pull temporary files and templates from: a) from where the license is stored (pointed to when setting up ESdat under Help license) or b) where the program is saved when installing which, in our case, is on each of our individual C drives? Thank you

Hi Emily,

It's possible that the file controlling the importing from Excel may be locked when uninstalling the previous version and installing the newer version. Especially if Excel is open.

Before installing the updated version check that Excel is closed and that the folder you are installing it into is empty.

Regards,

Warwick
