Hi there,

I just was trying to add an existing site to a project in ESdat v.5 and I got the following response:

Run-time error: '-2147217900 (80040e14)': [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Sites_Projects_Security. You do not have permission to alter data for this Site_ID

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding was that being a power-user/super-user/DBO/administrator/whatever-you-want-to-call-it meant that I should be able to do (nearly) everything in the system, including modify a site that someone else may have created.

Thanks,

Brad

Also, I should note that this does not occur for all sites. I have successfully assigned some sites; this has only happened with one site so far. Brad

Hi Brad

You'll need to assighn yourself to the site before modifying associated projects. See the following:

http://www.ESdat.net/ESdathelp/new_project___site_at_existing.htm

In particular:

Permission to access data is controlled on a Site by Site basis (ie not by project). With the default security settings, users with Read-Write or DBO access can assign themselves access to any site. Users with Read-Only access can only be assigned access by a user who has DBO access.

Regards
