Depth Dependent Standards - Conditional Matrix Type??

Hi there, I recall hearing from Warwick last autumn that ESdat 5 can handle depth-dependent standards. However, I am unsure of how to do this. Is this something that the Env_Stds_Conditional_Matrix_Type field would be used for? That is one of at least a couple fields that have suddenly appeared in version 5 with no explanation of how to use it. Thanks, Brad

Hi Brad, Thanks for your post. You're right - ESdat 5 has some great new features to help users manage complex environmental standards. Depth dependent environmental standards will apply when the chemistry sample depth falls within the Conditional_Depth_From/To interval of an Environmental Standard. Conditional matrix environmental standards apply when the Env_Stds_Conditional_Matrix_Type field against the chemistry sample matches the Env_Stds_Conditional_Matrix_Type field of an Environmental Standard. Standards conditional upon another chemical range will only apply when the reference chemical (such as pH or hardness) falls within a specific range (Conditional_ChemCode1/2_Value_Min/Max). Up to 2 conditional (reference) chemicals can be applied. A True/False value in the Applies_To_Total_Result / Applies_To_Filter_Result fields control application of a standard to filtered/non-filtered results. I trust this helps. All the best, Tom |

Thanks Tom, that helps a bit. I don't suppose you have an example where each of these have been used? I have been using conditional standards based on chemical ranges and they work nicely, but I am having a hard time determining exactly how to use the other two. If I see it in an annotated example that may help. Thanks, Brad

Hi Brad, We don't have an annotated example immediately available - that's a useful suggestion. However you'll find additional detail at the link below: http://www.ESdat.net/ESdathelp/index.html?conditional_environmental_stan.htm Thanks, Tom |
