Hey all,

I am trying to figure out an easy way build a table in ESdat that compares the criteria that is available for different environmental standards.

Ideally, I would like to be able to arrange the criteria by ChemGroup for each Environmental Standard.

Is there an easy way to output such a table in ESdat?

Thanks

Hi,

If you create a Chemistry Output table that includes all the guidelines that you want to compare they should all be listed at the top of the table, and grouped by ChemGroup (at least for the analytes you have data for in that Chem Table).

Another way would be to export the environmental standards table from ESdat to excel and use Pivot Tables, although you wouldn't get the Chem Grouping.

Does that help, what is the ultimate final objective?

Regards,

Warwick

Hey Warwick,

This is sort of helpful, but not really what I was hoping for. At the moment am pulling out the list of values for each environmental standard and then manipulating the lists manually myself to create something like this;

ChemGroup : ChemName :  Unit  : Criteria A : Criteria B : Crieria C :  Adopted Criteria

Metals          : Antimony    :  mg/L : 0.003       :      -           : 0.0006     :  0.0006

                     : Mercury      :  mg/L :    -            :  0.006       : 0.000063 :  0.000063

The ultimate objective is to show which criteria have been selected for a site in instances where multiple crieria are applicable.

I also want an easy way to show which compounds have criteria but have not been tested for in the samples collected.  I often have instances where not all the compounds of a chem group are reported by the lab even though I have criteria for the missing compound in the environmental standard, and these don't show up in the chem tables.

Hopefully you understand what I am getting at. It's no drama if there is no quick fix for this, I am just trying to see if there is an easier way to do this task that isn't so time consuming.

Thanks

Lachie

Hi Lachie,

Generally your adopted criteria would be the most conservative of the criteria that are applicable?

In terms of flagging which compounds have criteria for them, but have not been analysed for I would imagine there are often compounds in the guidelines that are judged to be not compounds of interest for the particular site and so are not analysed for.   I'd be interested to see if others can expand on or express an interest in this kind of report.  I'm not aware that this kind of report is done much, but is certainly something we can complete as a custom report if you are interested in that.  .

Regards,

Warwick
