Hi,

I have followed the steps in the tutorial to add the matrix type 'Leachate' to ESdat, which has allowed me to import the lab data, as well as updated standards for a leachate matrix.

I now can't see any of the leachate chemistry data.

I can see the leachate standards ok, they are clearly stating matrix type - LEACHATE.

There are no unit converstion errors as I have checked units.

Please advise what else I could/should be looking for.

Thanks.

Hello Libby,

Leachate (as in landfill leachate) should be added as a liquid matrix, if you don't want to call it water, and will be available under the Water Chemistry button.

Leached Soil results are different.  They should have a Matrix_Type of Soil, and a Result Type of "Reg_leached".  See the lab specifications for information on how the data is to be provided.

If you change the Matrix_Type to Leachate it would still work, but you would need to also change the Result_Type to "Reg", and then also edit the standards to match.  We don't recommend you do this, unless you have a deliberate reason.

Alex.

Thanks,

That explains why they're not showing up after i changed the matrix type to leachate.

BUT it presents another question - why weren't they showing up at all when I imported them as-recieved from the lab. The settings were as you described - Soil with a result type of Reg Leach, however I went along with changing the matrix type as there were no results showing when i imported the data originally...

 help?

Hello Libby,

It is most likely to be a unit conversion issue.

Also, Leached results are output under Soil (leached) and are not output in the same table as the non-leached results (due to the units being different).  Maybe that was the confusion.
