Hi All,

would it be accurate to say that if you choose to group by chem-group in  your output tables your chem-order structure is not applied?

If so, is there a way to organise/order chem-groups rather than individual analytes? I have tried giving all analytes in the same chem_group the same number but it doesn't change the order from left to right on the output table.

I have checked the tutorials and help topics but they  have not provided much information regarding how this actually works.

 Thanks

Hi Libby,

Compounds are ordered as specified in Data Tables - zRef Chemistry Lookup.  The Grouping Order is applied first and then the order of the compounds within the grouping.

The order of the grouping is set under Data Tables - zRef_Chemistry_Lookup_Chem_Groups.

When dealing with data collected from a number of sources and formats and faced with a large number of analytes whats the easiest way to create a complete list of all the analytes that chemical data has been recorded for in order to rcustomise chem groups for table production

Hello Libby,

You can select the water (or soil) chemistry data in the main ESdat screen, and use the "Summarise Data" button on the left toolbar (orange, summary button).  You can group by ChemCode, ChemName, ChemGroup, Method Type to see what combinations are in the database.

The attached image may assist.
