Our lab has provided a QA/QC sample type, Internal Reference Material (IRM) that is different from Standard Reference Material (SRM) or Certified Reference Material (CRM).

It appears that IRM is not recognized.  Is there a way we can add IRM so that we do not get the error:

"Sample_Type, the conflic occured in  database "ESdat", table "dbo.Chemistry_Samples", column "Sample_Type"

Hi Ilya,

Currently there is no functionality to allow users to create their own sample types.

This is because the sample type has quite a few relationships with other tables, and simply adding a new one could have unexpected flow on effects.

With respect to an 'IRM' sample, I suggest you follow up with your lab to see if this can be assigned to an existing sample type.  If this is a specific sample type that will be used often, could you please provide us with additional detail about what it is, and we can assess if it's something we may need to add to ESdat in a future update.

In the interim, to add this data to ESdat you will need to assign one of the existing sample types (and perhaps add a comment to flag what has been done).

Thanks,

Nick
