Hi all,

Running into an issue where field duplicate RPDs are not being calculated or displayed in the QA output. I know for a fact there are lab results for primary, duplicate and interlab duplicate samples, but only the interlab dup RPDs are being shown.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Richard,

Are both the parent and the duplicate sample shown on the RPD table, ie the samples are shown it's just that some results are not shown?

For Field Duplicates the result for the Primary and the duplicate Sample need to be anaysed via the same Method.  This means that for Field Duplicates the Method Name needs to be the same for both.  (That doesn't apply to interlab duplicates as different labs describe their methods differently so typically have different Method Names - and that is allowed for interlab duplicates).

Regards,

Warwick

Hi Warwick, thanks for replying.

Yes, both the parent and duplicate are shown in the RPD table, but the results and RPDs for the field duplicate sample are not shown. The interlab duplicate results are.

I think you've answered my question - the Methods are different.

So, is it possible for ESdat to calculate the RPD if the method types are different? (Or is this comparing apples with oranges?)

Would it be a matter of editing the Method_Name during the import process, or am I asking the wrong question?

Thanks

W,

I wonder if this could be a configurable option?

There are times where we would just want to compare regardless of method? - ibelieve.  And it might be better than manually changing the method type to get the desired output
