How do I add this table to ESdat Server? It is in the access version and we would like to be able to track SW flow at our landfill monitoring sites. Edited by moderator Wednesday, March 25, 2020 2:39:24 PM(UTC)

Hi Nick,
With ESdat Server, we recommend using the Logger Data functions for flow data.
Using the Logger Data functions will allow you to use the built in Logger Reporting and Charting.
You can import this data using the standard import templates in ESdat Desktop: https://ESdat.net/ESdatH...dex.html?logger_data.htm
Would this meet your requirements?

Nick,
It seems overly complicated when all we need is a Location, Date, Flow Rate, and Units. The flow rate is a single measurement recorded when we collect a surface water sample; we are not using loggers. Using the Logger templates, it appears we would have to put data in multiple templates: Logger_Events, Logger_Parameters, and Logger_Data.

Hi Nick,
The reason I suggest the logger method, is because there are standard reports for viewing this data in the web interface, including charts.
It's also just a single import template (although the data is stored in multiple tables).
Once you have worked through the import template setup wizard, it's relatively simple to continue adding new data.
I've included a completed example that you can use to populate your own data if you like. You should be able to use the "Populate Excel Import Template" import option to open this and assign the correct Site and Project information, then add your own data .
Logger_Template.xlsm (42kb) downloaded 2 time(s).
Cheers,
NT

Nick, I assume I can change the unit to m3/s, which is what we track for flow rate? What is the Import Template Setup Wizard? I can find no reference to it in ESdat desktop or the User Manual. The logger template you provided is not in my list of import templates. Only those I listed previously.

Hi Nick,
Yes, you can change the unit and parameter name in that file I provided, as well as any other details.
That template was generated using the instructions in the Online Manual here: https://ESdat.net/ESdatH...dex.html?logger_data.htm
It's one of the standard import templates in ESdat Desktop.
logger.JPG (76kb) downloaded 0 time(s).
Good luck.

Nick,
When I use the logger files button, I get a dialog asking me to open a file. I do not get any sort of wizard as shown in the user manual (the link you provided). NY

Hi Nick,
Yes, that's correct. The template is expecting you to open a csv or text file that you have downloaded from a logger.
If you already have your data tabulated in Excel, save this in a csv file and you can use it. To make my example I just created a blank file, opened it and skipped to the end of the wizard. I pasted my data directly.
Cheers
