Hi, I want to be able to filter samples by depth using ESdat Online. For example, I want a table to populate all samples collected between 1.2 and 2.2 metres. How can I do this? Also is it possible to do this using the description or comments attribute? That is, we have labled all fill samples as "Fill Layer 1" in the description, could we then filter this in the chemtable interface. Thanks,
David

Hi David, Thankyou for that question, we've had others also request that and it will be in the next update. However at the moment neither Depth nor Matrix Description is a filter within the ChemTable output. You can use the Excel export of the ChemTable and remove the data there, although you would need to re-calculate any statistics if you are including those. Sorry there isn't yet a better answer for you.

Thanks Warwick, this is definitely an important function for how we use ESdat in our application. Do you have an ETA on the next update?

Hi David, The next update is a major one, so a bit longer than normal. Predicting dates for major update releases only serves to make economic forcasters look accurate! However, December is about the ballpark for ESdat Online. Warwick Edited by user Friday, November 6, 2020 12:19:01 PM(UTC)

Big +1 upvote for this.
We generally need to use anything in the Location table to filter by.
This is a fairly important requirement - it currently limits the value of maintaining the location table if it can't be used to filter the output table (i.e. why would a field team bother adding in location detail if they cant use it for basic table outputs).
Regarding the work around - exporting all of the data is only possible on tiny jobs, ESdat wont display/export a chem output table with more than 40k results (which isn't many).
