Thanks: 1 times

Hi,

I have a few questions regarding ESdat Web Interface – I have not been using it for a year; and it looks different now.

  1. Bulk import: I have downloaded the template (e.g. locations) for bulk import; where can I go to select my file and upload?
  2. Mapping: The Bing map is not showing up on the screen. I have tried to “copy to new” but it is still empty. Are we able to add google map or nearmap (in the URL)?
  3. I have being trying to setup a template for my company – both in the web and desktop version but unsuccessfully. How do I create the same template for both the web/desktop version which all user can use?

Thanks,

Hi,

In answer to your questions:

  1. Once you've populated your Excel template, choose "Populated Template" from the dropdown.  This will then populate the forms in the app so you can validate the data: https://ESdat.net/ESdat_Server_Help/index.html?import2.htm
  2. I had a look on my browser, and I have no issues loading the Bing Map.  This may be a restriction that your IT has put in place.  To find out how to add different layers, please look at this page in the help menu: https://ESdat.net/ESdat_Server_Help/index.html?create_a_new_map_layer.htm
  3. Templates are managed differently between ESdat Desktop and the Web Interface.  Although you will need two separate templates, these can be setup in such a way that they are very similar.  Please look at the online user manuals here: https://ESdat.net/ESdatHelp/index.html?chemistry_output_tables.htm and here: https://ESdat.net/ESdat_Server_Help/index.html?excel_export.htm

Thanks,

Nick
