What is the correct format (sample type and result type) for matrix blanks that apply to leached results from soil samples? Do they need to be the same as the samples (i.e., "soil", "leached_reg")?

Hi,

You should be able to specify a 'Sample_Type' of MS in the sample file, and a 'Result_Type' of Leached_Reg in the results file.

You can then check for errors by sending the files to our automated checker at: labreportchecker@ESdat.com.au

Thanks,

Nick

Thank you Nick, I should have asked about "matrix type" not "sample type". We enter MB for sample type for method blanks. Thank you also for the info for the automated checker!

The Matrix Type for MS should be the same as the normal sample that has been spiked. So having this set as soil is fine.

The Leached_Reg flag will be important if you have MS results for the regular analysis as well as the leached analysis for the same Sample Code, as this will ensure that results aren't flagged as duplicates.
