Is there a way in ESdat web to switch between chemistry table and chemistry graph WITHOUT losing the filter settings?  Alternatively a way to save (semi-temporary) filters?

Hi Paige,

Filters should be retained across reports, assuming that they are applicable.  Items like ChemCodes, Locations, should be retained.

However, with Chemistry Tables and Graphs, the Chem Profile and Layout you have applied may also have an impact.

On the master Project/Site filter (https://www.ESdat.net/ESdat_Server_Help/index.html?filtering_data.htm) you will see that there is a check-box item "Use Project-Specified Chem Profile, Layout & QA Settings".  I recommend trying different options with this check-box, as it may be what is changing your temporary settings.

Thanks,

Nick

Thanks for the suggestion Nick. We tried this option but still had the issue of the filter being removed when changing from Chemistry Table to Chemistry Graph. Coworkers have shared that last year this worked - the filters remained and they just had to hit Search again. I don't think its a permissions issue either, as this happens using the admin and user account.

I noticed similar with filters being removed when I switched from chemistry tables to chemistry lists back in March 2021. But I couldn't confirm that it used to work the way I expected.

We're looking into this.

If we need further specific information, we'll follow up with you offline.

Thanks,

Hi Paige,

We identified and fixed a bug which was causing this issue.

If you install the latest ESdat Server update, the shared filters should successfully stay between Data View reports.

Thanks,

Nick
