When ESdat produces a chemistry output table the grouping and compound ordering isn't quite what I want.  Can this be customised?

Both the grouping and the compound ordering can be customised.

When producing the chemistry output table the last screen prior to export allows you to specify the layout options, including grouping.  Here you have options:  ChemGroup, Laboratory Method Type, Laboratory Method Name.  You can customise the ChemGroup.

To do this go to the main screen in ESdat, and select 'Data Tables' , the rightmost button along the top.  Under 'Data Tables' select the table called 'zRef_Chemistry_Lookup'.  This table contains a complete list of compounds, with output units and a column called Chem Group.  Editing the value in this column allows you to change the group each compound belongs to.   There is also another column called Chem Order.  This allows you to change the ordering of the compounds.  By default the ordering is mostly alphabetical (with some exceptions such as BTEX).  You can change these numbers to get the ordering you need.  Duplication of numbers or use of decimal points is supported.

You can also change the ordering of ChemGroups by editing or adding values to the "zRef_Chemistry_Lookup_Chem_Groups" table.

If you are using the Access version any changes will apply only to that database.  You can replicate the changes to other databases, see topic: http://www.ESdat.com.au/Forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=32
