I am looking into the permissions for the SQL version and it looks like our users group has the same permissions as the super users group. I would like to create a basic users group that allows people to access the database to query data but does not allow them to edit the data tables. Is this possible?

Your database administrator should have a document titled 1. ESdat SQL Server Setup Instructions.pdf which describes to login types. Three levels of security are provided by default: Power User (admin); Read/Write; Read Only. The levels are assigned by allocating the appropiate roles to the user group or individual user in SQL Server Management Studio. If your administrator doesn't have the document we can provide it offline. Edited by moderator Thursday, June 11, 2009 10:21:00 PM(UTC)
