Hi Everyone,

I have been asked to accept data from another database (Fulcrum SQL) to work on a project. The other company's database works off a SQL Server too. Can this be done? I've done it internally from Access to SQL with the ESdat intertransfer file. Will ESdat accept another software's database? What kind of file do I ask them to generate?

 Thanks. Ryan

Hello Ryan,

The normal method to import data from another database is to generate the Import Templates that are required, and create outputs from the other database to match the columns in the Import Templates.   The Import Templates are then imported in the normal manner.

When transferring data from one ESdat database to another the ESdat Data Interchange File can be used, but this isnt applicable to other database systems.

Sincerely,

Alex
