I have input field data and lab data and they do output, but although the loc-code, field ID and date are the same, they always split into two seperate columns (ie with chem names vertical).

I was manually cutting and pasting the field components into the lab data columns but this will become inefficient with more data.

Is this a template issue, or is this the standard ESdat output format?

If ChemNames are vertical (Sample information across), you will get a new column for each new combination of sample fields exported.

Thus is you have four dates at one Location, but only include the Location in the export then the data for the four dates will all be consolidated (as a range) into one column.

If you have field and lab data which are recorded in ESdat as different samples (as is the norm), they will be output in the same column (ie will appear as one sample) if the data is the same in the fields exported.  If there is any difference in the exported sample fields then the data will appear as seperate columns, which must be the case you are describing.  If you are sure that is not the case for you then please send an example showing the export, and potentially the database (so we can regenerate it) to support@ESdat.com.

Thanks Alex. I realised that I had entered field temperature, and that the lab had only reported sample temperature on some SDGs. The duplication split the columns as they would not allow 2 types of temperature. I have since removed the field temp data, created a new Chem_name "field_temp" and reloaded the field data, which has solved the problem.
