Auto-select the highest of a range of parameters

Hi all, I'm working on some acid sulfate soils projects, and have results from both SPOCAS and Scr suites in my database. I'm producing the data tables without any troubles, but i was wondering if ESdat has the ability to add one more column to the table called "Highest Net Acidity", and populate it with the highest value from the acidity parameters reported in each suite? Regards, Paul

Hello Paul, Can I clarify, you have multiple Acidity results, with different ChemNames/Different ChemCodes, and you want to produce an additional output which has the maximum of those results? Post-Import Custom Calculations are probably the best, or only, way to get the system to do that automatically. Alex

Hi Alex,
Thanks for your quick reply. That is exactly what I'm after - could you please point me towards some instructions to carry this out and insert an additional column with this data to the chem tables?
Thanks,
Paul

Hello Paul, The best way to learn how to construct Post Import Custom Calculations is to open an existing one, and review the logic. Have a read of http://www.ESdat.net/ESd...ostimportcalcs.htm It does require some knowledge of creating the calculation in the syntax of the database you use (ie MS Access or SQL Server). For some people that is a problem, in which case we also offer a service in creating them for a fee. Let me know if that is required. Alex
