Hi Everyone, Just trying to update the template project (EScIS_Hydrogeology_and_Environmental) with the new version of US EPA residential criteria. Previously ive done this by updating the EScIS_Hydrogeology_and_Environmental.mdb file. After updating to the latest version of ESdat, Ive since noticed that this file does not exist. AND When i try to import the new standard ESdat wint allow it due to it not being able to locate EScIS_Hydrogeology_and_Environmental.mdb. How can i update my stuff? Any help would be appreciated Cheers Brad

Hello Brad, Where was your new database template stored previously? I hope it wasn't in the installation directory; no modified templates should be stored there. Assuming it was elsewhere it is possible that the Network Path or Template Path in ESdat got reset in the uninstall/reinstall process. If that is the case then resetting that path should fix the problem. If you can't find the previous version of this template (this shouldn't happen, it should be on your server in a specific template folder) you can obtain a new copy of this template from within the installation folder (C:\Program Files\ESdat\Templates) - copy it to your nominated Network/Template Path. Regards, Warwick

Hi Warick, We have managed to update our template database file (EScIS_Hydrogeology_and_Environmental.mdb - through acess mind you) and we have saved it into C:\Program Files\ESdat\Templates, however, when we restart ESdat (after restarting the computer) and create a new project, the new project does not reference the template file. We know this because the Z-Ref_Environmental_Standards in ESdat are different to the Z_Ref_Environmental_Standards shown after we click on the access button on the right hand side of the screen. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?? Brad

Hi Brad, You can open your new database template and edit through ESdat just like any other project database http://www.ESdat.net/ESd...ts_access_versions_o.htm You shouldn't store customised templates under the installation folder, or you will lose them when you update. For the new project template you will need to copy the .mdb and the .esd file (see above link) to a permanent folder for templates, and set that path in ESdat (the Template Path). For this particular template you can rename the files (both of them) in order to make it easier to be sure you are using your modified template when you start a new project. If you have a project (database file) open in ESdat and click the Access button on the right it will open that same database file in Acces. You can check this by checking the path in ESdat under File - Other, and in Access under properties. Regards, Warwick Edited by moderator Friday, June 22, 2012 8:37:43 PM(UTC)
