Can ESdat calculate SAR? If so, how does one do it?

Thanks.

Hello Eric,

No, ESdat doesn't calculate SAR.  You would need to do it after export.

Hello Eric,

It is something that can be done in the current release through having a suitable Post Import Custom Calculation, some of which are included in the ESdat Installation Directory.

However, I don't believe we have one for SAR for the SQL Server version of ESdat, and generating them requires an understanding of database SQL syntax.  We will look at generating it and let you know when it is available.

Hi Warwick

Sorry to keep bothering you regarding SAR. One issue I do have is that when I import a SAR column that is calculated in our old Excel tables into ESdat, the number with all its significant digits is imported, which is fine. Is there a way to reduce the number visible? I have tried the Setup/Chemistry/Significant Digits. Nothing happens when I click on it.

Then when I export the SAR data using the chem table button, the Excel table also has all the significant digits. My problem here is that the table won't allow me to reduce the number of significant digits using the Excel button nor through formating the cells using the number category. I can however, delete the cell and then type in the number with the required number of digits.

Is there some way of allowing the table to use the significant digit option?

 Thanks

Hi Eric,

The SAR Calculation producing too many significant digits is a custom calculation issue, and so we will need to look at addressing it at the calculation level.  If feasible, you can edit the calculated results under "Chem Tracking", or else you can delete them (same place) until we have addressed that issue.

Regards,

Warwick
