QA Checker not shows Field and Interlab Duplicates RPD

Hi everyone, Recently I have tried to produce some Duplicate and Triplicate RPD by ESdat, but after I have run the QA Checker via ESdat desktop software, the QA Checker does not show any RPDs. The web version can't even produce the QA Checker. I am pretty sure that I have added the Field_D, Interlab_D and sample codes of the parent samples in the database. Much appreciate it if someone can help. Cheers Haofei

Hello Haofei, I recommend you double check that you have set the Sample Type correctly. For a "Duplicate" I assume this relates to the ESdat sample type "Field_D". This sample type should be in the same Lab Report as the primary/parent sample. For a "Triplicate" I assume that this is an "Interlab_D", and will be in a secondary lab report (different to the parent samples). Is this how you have set things up? If not, you'll need to make sure you follow those rules (Field_D in same report as Parent, Interlab_D when it is in a different lab report). Thanks, Nick

Hi Nick, Thanks for your quick reply. I have checked the ESdat sample type. I have used the Interlab_D for triplicate, and Field_D for the duplicate, I have assigned the parent sample as well. Cheers Haofei

Hi Haofei, Can you please confirm the second part of the rule? The Field_D samples need to be in the same lab report as the parent sample (they can't be in a different lab report or need to be set as Interlab_D). Also, for the Interlab_D have you selected both the lab report that the Interlab_D is in as well as the lab report that the Parent sample is in before generating the RPD report? Thanks, Nick

Hi Nick, My understanding is Field_D and parent sample is from the same lab, and Interlab_D and parent sample are from a different lab. Anyway, I just changed the Field_D to Interlab_D if the Field_D sample is not on the same lab report as the parent sample.
But the QA checker still does not have any RPD.
Any other things that I need to check? Cheers Haofei Originally Posted by: Nick Support

Hi Haofei, Theres a few steps to follow to make sure your samples can show up in an RPD report: Make sure all of your regular samples have location codes and make sure the sample type is "normal" Your duplicate samples that have been sent to the same lab have also been allocated to the correct location code, the sample type is "Field_D" and the "parent sample" field is populated with the Sample_ID of the primary sample. Your duplicate samples that have been sent to a secondary lab have been allocated to the correct location code, the sample type is "Interlab_D" and the parent sample field is the sample_ID of the same primary sample as the Field_D. So all of these samples are then connected by their location code and also by the primary sample_ID. May I also suggest talking to one of your organisations power users to double check the project data if you are still having difficulties. Regards Kimberley
