I have recieved an error in the 'Sample_DateTime' column that reads "Item cannot be found in the collection corresponding to the request name or oridinal". What does this mean and how can it be resolved?

Hello, It is easier to resolve this kind of issue if you can send through an example of the data you are trying to import, and the problem. That kind of error though suggests that the column header may have been renamed from that provided automatically in the import spreadsheet to a variation on it. Check that the column header is correct. If necessary, generate a new import template for historical chemistry to see what was initially provided in the spreadsheet. Regards, Warwick

I am having the same problem with the attached files. I have tried to open another ESdat historical template but ESdat keeps shutting down. Could you have a look and let me know what I may be doing wrong? File Attachment(s): Compliation Table Groundwater.xls (166kb) downloaded 1 time(s). Soil greater than 3.xls (88kb) downloaded 0 time(s). Soil less than 3.xls (168kb) downloaded 1 time(s).You cannot view/download attachments. Try to login or register.

Hello, It looks like you have some invalid date/time values in the Date-Time column. A rule of thumb is that if Excel recognises it as a valid date (rather than text) then ESdat will too. It also looks like you have disabled macros, and then deleted a column, which can cause issues for the crosstab import formats. You may need to regenerate the template and copy your data into a new one. Alex

Hi there, I'm also getting the same error message and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong! I've attached the problem file. Cheers, Rebecca File Attachment(s): Historical data import.xls (413kb) downloaded 2 time(s).You cannot view/download attachments. Try to login or register.

Hello Rebecca, This applies to the "Cross-Tab" Import template. In this example, the hashed third row, which is by default below the sample field,s extends across all the analyte names as well. This indicates that something isn't as expected, probably some sample columns have been "turned into" analyte names? There are also no CAS numbers (ChemCodes) above the analytes, which will be needed (using the normal chemcode lookup method) for a sucessful import. As a general rule of thumb if you are new to using the cross-tab import template, and have been deleting columns, and subsequently have issues, they are probably caused by that process. In that case, try regenerating a new historical template and copying your data across. If you have too many sample fields these can be reduced under Setup - Chemistry. Alex. I am receiving this error when trying to import a post-import calculation. I have not altered any of the post-import calculations at all. What could be the possible cause of this?

Hi Theresa, This Post Import Custom Calc import error in the Access version is a known bug in the earlier 4.4 releases. If you update to the latest installation on the website it is fixed. Regards, Warwick
