Import of Acid Sulphate Soils (ASS) data

I have tried to import ASS data into ESdat, but I think there are some unit conversion problems as only one component (ANC fineness factor) imports properly. I changed the pH_units, that's fine now, too, but I'm not sure which units (or unit conversions) to use for other ASS data. I also can't find any information in the "zRef" tables. can you help, please? Thanks, Sandra

Hello Sandras, When you say "Imports properly", does all the data import, but not appear on the outputs? Assuming that this is the case, you should check the unit conversions, have you done that? (Check Units button in the main screen). If you are unfamiliar with that then Tutorial 2 will give you some guidance. Alex

Hi I had this issue as ASS data is generally reported in unusual units (i.e. kg COCO3/T). ESdat suggests converting these to mg/L or % etc, but then this wouldn't make sense for ASS work. So all I did was add the units. In the "Check Units" section, it provides the Measured Unit and the Output Unit, and the Conversion. You can type over the suggested ouput unit and put in the required measured unit, with a conversion of 1. Similarly you can do this in "ZRef_ConverUnits" section if you've already accepted the suggestions. Hope this helps and is correct from ESdat admin point of view :) Babs
