I'm currently trying to import both dissolved metals data and total metals data into my database. Is there any way to differentiate between these two when you are importing? i.e. a column where you can input T of F.

Hello, You are probably importing using the "Crosstab" or "Tabular" method that is easiest for historical data. This comes from the "Importing Historical Chemistry" section of the help file as applies to importing cross-tabbed data: If a result is Field Filtered the word "Filtered", "Dissolved" or "Soluble" (case insensitve) needs to be included in the compound name. If this is the case the results will automatically be given a "Total_or_Filtered" value of "F". Result prefixes can be included with the result. I hope this helps, Alex

I am also trying to enter dissolved and total metals into my database. I have tried your recommendation and entered 'Total' or 'Filtered' into the compound name of each but it is coming up as 'Record already exists' for the Total metals data. Can you see where I went wrong? Is there any other way to do this?

Hello, Please have a read of http://www.ESdat.net/ESd...istorical_chemistry.htm, and if that doesn't resolve it, check if the data is actually already in the database. You may like to Check Units in ESdat (to make sure there are no unit conversion issues), then produce a Chemistry Output table, to confirm what has already been imported. Regards, Warwick
