Hi,

Im a new user of ESdat so please be gentle.

Im having troubles trying to re-organise our ESdat tables, in particular, we would like to have all the 'ESdat Combined' and random analytes results appearing with the chemical group they are derived from (ie. Aldrin + Dieldrin should appear in OCP's, chromium hexavalent - metals). We would also like to get other analytes together in one spot, ie: pH, sulfate, fluoride, cyanide.

I have tried modifying the 'Chem_order' and 'Chem_group' in the zREF_Chemistry_Lookup, however, this has not worked.

Any ideas?

Hello,

If you select "Chem Group" as your grouping option then they will be grouped as you have specified.  If you group your outputs by Method Type or Method Name rather than Chem Group then changes to the Chem Group wont affect those outputs.

If you do need to group by Method Type or Method Name then the only way to get the "Combined Compounds" to group as you want is to edit the values given in those fields in the Chemistry Results table.

Sincerely,

Alex

Hi Alex,

We currently use the method name output as we think that it groupd the analytes better compared to the other methods So because of this is their any way to modify the ESdat combined into the correct groups.

We would prefer not to have to alter our chemical results table too much, as once a column has been moved the autoformatting for standards and non detects doesnt work properly.

Hello Brad,

If you dont want the combined compounds at all they can be prevented from showing.  Remove any entries from under Data Tables - zRef_Combined_Compounds to prevent future calculations.  Delete an data under Data Tables - Chemistry Results that has a Method Name of "ESdat Combined".  They should no longer appear.

Unfortunatly if you do want to retain the Combined Compounds functionality and continue to group by Method Name then the only option is to edit the Method Name that is generated during that process, which is under Data Tables - Chemistry Results.  If you change it here you won't need to make changes to the output tables that get produced.

Sincerely,

Alex.

Hello Brad,

In relation to the other compounds (ie the non Combined Compounds ones) if you are grouping by Method Name then there is no real way to modify that as we don't recommend editing the Method Name column for lab data (combined compounds aren't lab data and the value for them is just generic so it is less of an issue).  The Method Name values are output as provided from the lab.

THe Labs Method Type is another option, which should broadly (but never exactly in our experience) reflect the suite requests on your COC.

Sincerely,

Alex.
