We are looking to connect GIS applications to the backend of ESdat. The issue is that some analytes only report under particular profiles (where the output units are defined)

The ESdat frontend resolves itself by the selection of the profile. However if the backend is connected to  - how do the profiles interact with the SChem/ LChem queries? It looks like its defaulting to Profile 1?

The SQL Server version of ESdat allows different "Profiles" of output units to be defined.

The profile is stored against each users UserName, which is referenced in the output views:  thus it doesn't matter if you are accessing the view directly by some other application, the view will still return data for the Profile selected for that user (Typically their Windows Login).  The view will also only return data for the Site(s) that the User has selected to use in ESdat.
