Moving data to new job number

A large job we have been working on for a few years has been given a new job number. Our task now is to figure out the easiest way to make sure the data stays together). I was wondering-instead of moving all the data from the original job number into the new one, or depositing any new data into the old job number-is there a way to change the job number to the new number? without a large data move?

Yes there is: I understand you are using the SQL Server version. All your data will have an existing Site ID and Project ID. You can import your new data to the same Site ID but use the new Project ID. If you want to ensure no new data is imported to the old Project ID you can set the 'Active' status to off. The 'Active' status is in the Project table and can only be changed by a user with DBO permissions.
