Getting the Header and Footers to show up in my chosen Output Template

Hi, I have adjusted the Chemistry_Output_Table_Template.xlsm file and saved it in a store of all of our templates for all the tables we produce. My adjustments included changes to the header and footer only - these items that I would like to have show up Every Time I produce a report using ESdat. I have attached a screen shot of: 1) The Windows Explorer folder where I have saved my tables template. 2) Proof that I'm directing ESdat towards the correct file pathway to find my template when I am about to produce a report. 3) An example of the header and footer that I'm trying to produce. BUT when I actually create the report the header and footer DO NOT show up in the output spreadsheet that is produced. PLEASE HELP! I have also tried saving my "Chemistry_Output_Table_Template" as an .xls file but ESdat only appears to recognize and .xlsm file for its template. If there is no .xlsm file in the folder I choose then it reverts back to the .xlsm file in the ESdat License folder. Hello Emily, Could you confirm your Template Path in ESdat (Setup - Template Path)? Also, when producing a Chemistry Table there is a "?" button above the "Finish" button. Can you click that and confirm the Template file is the file you expect? If it isn't then there is likely an issue with your Template Path (please double check), or you have renamed the file so that it is no longer as indicated at http://www.ESdat.net/ESd...mistry_output_tables.htm Regards, Warwick Edited by user Tuesday, November 5, 2013 9:44:59 PM(UTC)

Hi Warwick, Sorry but the link you posted leads to an error page. Also I have uploaded a screen shot of proof of my template pathway. It is the first attachment - it is listed just as a hyperlink sentence. I will upload it again here. Thanks, Emily File Attachment(s): ProofofTemplatePathwayFile.png (267kb) downloaded 2 time(s).You cannot view/download attachments. Try to login or register.

Hi Emily, I have fixed the link. It looks like clicking the "?" button give the template you are wishing to use? Regards, Warwick

That is correct, the pathway shows that I have been choosing the correct template. However, the Header and Footer settings that I have chosen and saved in the .xlsm file disappear when ESdat actually produces the output. So its almost as if I haven't even chosen a template at all. I suspect it is something in the macro script that produces the output report that is deleting the header and footer formating?

We have resolved this issue offline. The correct Template file was being used, however the Header and Footer weren't populating. If using the Access version of ESdat, and no Project details are entered in the ESdat Project then the header and footers in the Chem Table are not output. Some project details need to be entered for the project to avoid this. You are prompted for Project details when starting a new project, or else you canview/edit/add them under Data Tables - Project.
