Hi,

I am having problems exporting data to chem tables and was hoping someone might be able to help. When I try to export data I get the following error:

Error: Too many columns are being exported (max 255 excel columns), try exporting less data or use a different data orientation.

However, I am only trying to export results for a handful of locations with vertical chemical names so it shouldn’t exceed 255 columns. Instead, it seems that the error occurs when I try to add more than two location/sample data fields to the table. I.e. it exports without any problems when I include only the Well Code and Sample ID fields but when I try to add further fields such as the sampling date and lab report number the error appears.

I’m using the Access version of ESdat and Excel 2010.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks,

Will

Hi Will,

Are you using the Access version (listed in the drop-down on starting ESdat)?

If you are able to send screen shots and a zipped copy of a database that shows the issue to support@ESdat.com.au we will take a look at it.

Regards,

Warwick

Wills issue was found to be a known bug.  Inclusion of the "Sample Type" column in the Chem Table caused the issue.  This is fixed for the next release.

Thanks Warwick!

I will remove Sample Type from my export.
