Is it possible to set up users so they can generate output tables but cannot edit the data the tables within ESdat? Basically i guess this would be a read only access but i cant seem to work out how to implement this level of persmissions?.

The SQL Server version has three default levels of login (although you can create your own).

A Read Only User or Group would be assigned the roles for read-only access.  Your IT will have received documents on what these are but details about server security configurations are not posted on the web or in the help files.  In case they don't I will send them seperately.
