I have had nothing but trouble with the Environmental Standards in our database, and am wondering if there is a way that I can purge the existing standards and re-load them. I would also like to do this with the chem codes, but fear that doing so would completely break ESdat. Has anyone ever attempted this before? The problem seems to be that we have chem codes erroneously associated with certain chem names. For example, EPHw10-19 was associated with the chem code VPHC10_C19 in the BC CSR Sch 6 Water standards. This, in turn, appears to have broken our chem tables, which now pull the 5 mg/kg standard for EPHw10-19 when it should have pulled the 15mg/kg standard for VPHw. Though I question also why VPHw is associated with VPHC10_C19 in the first place - what does that even mean? This of course begs the question: When there is no CAS Number for a substance (such as LEPH, HEPH, EPH, VPH, VH, etc), how is the chem code decided in ESdat? If anyone has any insight, suggestions, solutions, experience, similar frustrations, or whatever, I would appreciate hearing about it. Thanks, Brad
