Hello,

I have exported some environmental guidelines into ESdat and wish to show values that exceed these guidelines in the map window. How do I go about this?

Thanks,

---- Edited response, to reflect subsequent functionality changes.----------

You can view a chemistry table for each point on the map by clicking the the "Labels" button on the Map Window.  You can then specify the font color to use for exceedances of each guideline.  There is a checkbox "exceedances only" which you can select to only show exceedances of those guidelines.

------------------- Original Response  - still valid------------------

This is easy within ESdat.  Under Water or Soil Chemistry there is a second output called Environmental Standards.  This shows your concentration and guideline levels for each result.

You filter for results where your concentrations are greater than a particular standard, or greater than all standards.  An example of the filter that shows all exceedances is (and you can copy this into your filter box)

Concentration > Min_Action_Level

You can use the Filter tab to generate this, or for any specific guideline.  You can also include other filters of course, like for a particular compound or monitoring round.

Hi All,

this is relevant to this topic so I thought I'd post here.  Is there any way to show labels for all samples that are "less than standards", i.e. no exceedances.  It would be nice to save that layer and then run an exceedances only label to see an overall snapshot.

 cheers,

 Cory

Hello Cory,

You can use other approaches to show only results that are not exceedances.

One would be a modification of the "Original Response" but change

Concentration > Min_Action_Level  to

Concentration < Min_Action_Level

A further variation on this theme is to show only detects or only non-detects.  Filtering for the Prefix value; ie Prefix = '<' (for non-detects) or Prefix Is Null (for detects) will provide this.

Hi Alex,

What do you mean by "original response"?  I can't find Concentration > Min_Action_Level  but must be looking in the wrong place.
