Earlier in 2015, the BC Water Quality Guidelines was amended: http://www2.gov.bc.ca/as...g_summary_dec_2_2015.pdf Many of the short-term maximum values are hardness dependent, and require a calculation (i.e., WQG = 0.094(hardness) + 2 and some more complicated questions involving ln and e). I have two questions: 1) For each of these "equation" type of guidelines, it is necessary to calculate a specific guideline as per the hardness of the sample. Is ESdat 5 capable of calculating and applying standards per sample? 2) Is it possible to get the latest BC WQG available on your website? Thanks, Elisa

Hi Emma, Sorry for the delay in this response. We'll take a look and update, it normally takes a few weeks. For some Analytes it specifies a formulae, such as WQG = e[1.03 × ln(hardness**) – 5.274]. ESdat doesn't currently support a formulae, it needs a value, so a series of values based on a hardness range would need to be used. ESdat version 5 can support different values for one Analyte depending on the concentration of a different Analyte ( such as the Nitrate values that are chlorine dependant), and that can be done per sample. However, Ammonia in the BC Drinking water guideline has about 546 different values (dependant on temperature and pH). Performace starts to degrade after about 10 different values, so some simplification of the Ammonia values would need to be done. We'll need to work out the best way to do that (ie 10 values based on a 10 ranges of pH/temperature) Regards, Warwick
