Adding a New Sample Type

Hello
I have been trying to import some lab data from a sample that has come from a skip on site, I want to create a new Sample_Type and name it SKIP so that it can be filed under that. I am currently storing it under a Trip_B Sample_Type as that ensures that it does not need to be stored under a location code and subsequently get confused when reporting the data.
Currently I have gone to Data Tables>zRef_Drop_Downs. I then added a new row and entered in to the Table column "Chemistry_Samples", in the Column column "Sample_Type", and in the Value column "SKIP".
When I try and import lab data this does not appear on the import form drop down menu under Sample_Type, this is also the case for looking at the Data Tables>Chemistry_Samples>Sample_Type drop down menu.
I would like to be able to add this with a similar crieteria to the Field_B sample type where the location code is not required for the sample to be stored (as there is no official location as to where the samples came from).
It's probably something basic that I'm doing wrong or not doing, but my inexperience of the program and the searches I've done online (the ESdat website and this forum) have not yeilded any results.
Any help is very much appreciated!
Regards
James

Hi James, You can't add to the drop down options for Sample Type, that list is fixed. You will need to use on of the other fields at the Location or Chemistry Sample level to flag that data. Regards, Warwick
