Hi,

Desktop version is a bit slow to render my georeferenced background image in the mapping function. I initially tried using a 6Gb Tiff image we use here in ArcGIS but ESdat crashed. I'm using a 'smaller' 245 Mb jpeg version but it is still quite slow. ESdat is lightining fast with the background image turned off. We've tried giving the machine more cpu but has little effect, Is this just a limitation of the 32 bit software? Is there a way to speed things up?

Thanks,

Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,

If you havn't already tried it try storing the background image on your local drive to eliminate network issues.

Warwick

Hi Jeremy,

As a trial maybe try converting the image to ECW format. I am currently viewing a 32GB ECW image in ESdat and I am receiving no issues with speed.
