Hi,

We are migrating to windows 10, and using Data Interchange importing template to create a new ESdat file for a new job with same clients. I found that I can't import field WQ dataset from edif file (Data Interchange) anymore, there is no problem with laboratory data and GW level  - all are succesfully imported.

Lines containing field WQ data (which was imported using field parameters importing template) are all purple-shaded with the comment:

The INSERT statement conflicted with the CHECK constraint "Lab_Name_and_Report_Number_both_Required". The conflict occurred in database "ESdat_Prod", table "dbo.Chemistry_Samples".

How can make it works again as per before?

Hi Yanti,

When importing historical data if you are including either of the Lab Report Number or the Lab Name you need to include both or you will get that feedback.

This hasn't changed, it's always been that way.

If you're still not sure can you attach a copy of what you are trying to import (remove any identifying information)

Regards,

Warwick

Since the constraint that lab name and lab number need to be filled is only enforced during loading my workaround has been to fill empty cells in those columns with a dash then set them back to null after loading. Oh, and deleting the lab report numbered '-' after, too.

Generally I've been dealing with historical lab data where the report number is unknown (or not provided) but I'd probably deal with field data (where there is no lab report) the same way.

Hi Jordan,

If both a blank it should allow that during import.  It's only if just one of Lab Name or Lab Report Number is populated, it will ask for the other.

Hi Warwick,

Yes, I am aware of that. We didnt include lab report number and lab name on the sheet, we leave them blank as per usual. It's a problem I came accros after I got a new PC.

Found another problem, I can't alter the template path folder anymore, it only let me go to the drive path but not the folder. I meant, I direct it to the folder, clik OK, but nothing changed. Whatelse should i look at?

Hi Yanti,

The Lab Name and Report Number requirement isn't related to the PC.  It's an ESdat requirement.  Try doing the same thing on a different PC and I expect you will get the same outcome.  Feel free to attach an import template showing the message you are getting.
