Hi,

I'm installed the latest ESdat Desktop version to a computer.  When I tried to export a table I got the error: "10460 Automation error.  The server threw an exception".

When i logged in as administrator, I am able to export the data without the errors.  I tried re-installing and got the same issue.  Any ideas on how to fix it?  The install was done through administrator login.

Hi Jufar,

You've indicated that it works when logged in as an admin user, does it also work correctly when logged in with your user, but choosing to "run as admin"?

Also, export issues are more often than not related to Excel rathen than ESdat. I would recommend trying the following:

  • Can you please do an export from the Excel Dump (ie not chem table) in the toolbar on the right, and send a screenshot of the whole screen?
  • Could you please click Import – Locations and send any errors.
  • Does doing a “Repair” on Excel resolve it?
  • Does uninstalling recent Excel or Office "Patches" resolve it?
  • Does reinstalling Excel resolve it?
  • Were any applications recently installed or other changes made to the PC (other than ESdat)?

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Nick,

I'm actually adding it on another user.  The error occurs with his profile, but when i switch to mine, it works perfectly fine.

I sent you an email with the images, as don't know how to do it here.

- repair did not fix the issue - The other 2 (uninstalling, reinstalling) I am unable to do. My admin rights are limited. - There were additional fonts added to MS Office recently, but that is all.

Cheers, Jufar

Hi Jufar,

Thanks for the extra detail.  I did get those images.

Given the issue is related to a particular user, it's possible that their user profile has been corrupted.

Can you please try the steps in this post: https://www.ESdat.net/fo...0-Type-Mismatch#post1251 and let me know if that resolves the issue?

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Nick,

I have tried deleting both user.mdb files of the particular profile in the AppData and ProgramData.  It did not the fix the problem.

Although, after clicking "okay" from the error message, excel now open up.  It opens a blank template.
