I need to import our new limits for groundwater. I assume I need to do it using the attached template I downloaded off the site. Can you please just let me know if this is correct and the most efficient? Also where would I find the chem codes I need for our analytes?

Hi, the template I have downloaded is different. It has 'applies to total' and 'applies to filtered'. I have noticed when I upload to ESdat it come up with an error in the boxes I have put an 'X' in as if to instruct that 'it applies', however where it has been left blank it appears a 'true'. So from here I am assuming that when left the limit will apply but there is nothing in the manual that states what to enter when the limit doesn't apply to filtered or total?

Hi Chloe,
In ESdat every result is flagged as either Total or Filtered (with a T or an F in the chemistry table). This most often relates to inorganics in water such as metals which can be analysed as total metals or dissoved (filtered) metals.
Some environmental standards have different values depending on if the samples/results were total or filtered. This is why this flag is present in the import template.
For most standards, you should populate both columns with "TRUE", which means the standard will be applied to results which are either total or filtered.
If you have a standard which only applies to total arsenic (for example), you would set the value for the total field as "TRUE" and for the filtered field as "FALSE".
I hope that clarifies things for you.
Cheers,
Nick

Hi Nick,
I have successfully uploaded the limits template however I can't find it in our the list to apply to a site. Am I missing a step?

Hi Chloe,
When you add your own standards, they show up under the Group "Site Specific".
You should be able to find any standards you've uploaded yourself listed there.
Once you click into the standards details, you can assign the standard to your Sites and Locations by clicking on the appropriate tab.
If you haven't already, I recommend looking the at the entry in our online manual here: https://ESdat.net/ESdat_Online_Help/index.html?environmental_standards_detail.htm
Cheers,
Nick

Thanks Nick - but I have searched both 'site specific' and the name of the standard but it still doesnt appear. It definitely appeared as a successful upload, not sure if I am missing a step? I have checked the manual for this section however seems rather vague

Hi Chloe, Can you please provide some more specific details? Where are you looking for the standards? Are you in the Chemistry Table, the Environmental Standards menu, the Environmental Standards search?
What is the URL for the location you are looking in? Can you please paste it in. I can see nine Site Specific standards that have been uploaded for your Licencee here: https://online.ESdat.net/GuidelinesManagement/Guidelines. I take it none of these are the one you're talking about?
What have you populated in the Action Level Source field of the template? This is the name it will show up as in ESdat. I can see that your user added one referring to "EA ..... Table F2" earlier today. Thanks, Nick

Ah huh! There is the answer to my problem. The action source doesnt specify the site the limits are related to. This should solve everything once I change it. Thank you Nick! :)

Hi there, I have noticed upond doing a bulk upload of my site specific standards all of my units as ug/L have changed to mg/L, is there a way to stop this from happening? The only way I have seen to be able to change it is to update every single one mannually in the Action Levels edit section. Is there a way to stop this from happening? Cheers,

Hi there I am not sure how to delete post #10, but I sorted it out.
Another issue is that I am assigning the limits to sites as each template is for a different site however it isnt saving when I search in the chem table, rather I need to manually select every time and it saves to the most recent select?
Thanks for your help.
