How do I stop Chart Titles from appearing when using the Landscape/Portrait templates? There is no chart title shown in the template file but these titles appear in the output.

Hi Nick,

I'm not 100% sure what you mean.  Are you talking about the title block section in the orange box in the example below?

Graph.png (106kb) downloaded 0 time(s).

You can edit (or remove) this by modifying the GraphTemplate.xlsx file in your template folder.

If you've already modified this file and the changes aren't coming through, it would be worth double-checking that ESdat is looking in the correct location for your templates (and not the default location in the Program Files folder of the PC: https://ESdat.net/ESdatHelp/index.html?network_files.htm).

ESdat is using the edited template. It adds a title at the top of the chart even though it does not appear in the template.

Hi Nick,

If your export generates multiple charts, then the options selected in "New Chart for changes in" generates a plot chart title as this is the only way of confidently identifying what data is in the chart.  Although this data is also used to name the worksheet tab title, this is not a reliable way of identifying the chart given the limited number of characters (~30) that Excel allows in this field.

If you don't want the plot chart title included in your final chart, you'll need to remove it in Excel after export.  There's no way to configure this in the ESdat template.

Thanks,

NT
