Hi,

I am wondering if EDIF files can be imported when using the online version of ESdat, or if this is restricted to the dekstop version only? I am using the online version and am unable to see an option to import EDIF files under Import/Update/Export. The EDIF file format is rejected when I try the Populated Import Template option.

Thanks,

Alex

Hi Alex,

ESdat Online does not have an option for importing EDIF files.

Only Lab Report EDDs and other specific templates that can be that can be generated from the Import screen (such as Locations and Wells) can be imported.  So to import historical data into ESdat Online yourself, you would need access to the original Lab Reports EDDs.

Importing historical data into ESdat Online is something that we can offer as a service (https://www.escis.com.au/services/consulting).  This is tailored to the specific dataset you have.

If this is a task that you might require often, you would need an ESdat Server and ESdat Desktop licence to complete this task yourself.

Feel free to contact us through the link on our webpage (linked above), if either of these options are something you would like more details on.

Thanks,

Nick

I've been under the impression that ESdat Online would eventually include all the major features of ESdat Desktop. Is that no longer the plan? Importing data that isn't lab report EDDs is just about the only remaining gap.

Hi Jordon,

Yes, as part of the development of ESdat, there are plans to migrate many features of ESdat Desktop to the Web Interface, particularly regarding importing data.  There is currently no time-frame on the release of this however.

As this doesn't solve Alex's immediate issue, I didn't reference it in my reply to the question.

Thanks,

Nick
