Hi ESdat Online users – we have responded to your requests for being able to include Naphthalene in both the BTEX and PAH suites on reporting tables by introducing a new chem code.

There is a now a new chem code that is specific to Naphthalene reported as a VOC with the BTEXN suite 91-20-3_VOC. The original Naphthalene chem code of 91-20-3 will continue to be used for Naphthalene when reported as an sVOC.

The new chem code has already been placed in the BTEX group in the default chem profile, and chemistry results should now be showing up on the one row – but in 2 different groups.

For historical results – EScIS has automatically applied the new chem code to all Naphthalene results reported in a BTEX or VOC suite.

If your laboratory results are still showing the Naphthalene results duplicated over 2 rows in your tables – please request your chosen laboratory to use the new chem code.

Hi Kimberley

We have found that the new chem codes and subsequent measured value(s) are being provided in the ESdat .csv file correctly (refer lab data spreadsheet in attached file), however the ESdat chemistry results view is not working appropriately. This has occurred for three recentl reports and for reports provided in 2022 Lab Naphthalene errors 20230602.xlsx (354kb) downloaded 2 time(s)..

Refer spreadsheet and highlighted row in attached file:

  1. BTEXN (i.e. Naph VOC) cell is reporting the PAH Naph_Ex SVOC - with LOR =1 instead of LOR=5
  2. No result being provided in the PAH Naph_Ex SVOC cell.
  3. PAH (Sum of Total) is correct value.

Is there a system work around for this, as the laboratory file appears correct?

TIA - Damian
