Excel import issue

Hi - we've recently changed the PC that ESdat is loaded on from a Domain to a Workgroup and have had some little problems with ESdat. The latest is a message from Excel that occurs when when using "Upload Data" option:- "The connection cannot be used to perform this operation. It is either closed or invalid in this context." Any ideas as to where to look for a solution? Excel appears to be working normally and ESdat is working ok in other situations so far. Cheers

Hello, That message may get generated if trying to import from an excel sheet that isn't an import template. Do you get the message if you create a new, blank import template and then click import (you won't have anything to import). If that works fine then move the data into a matching import template for import. If that doesn't resolve it please attach a screen shot showing Excel and the error. Sincerely, Alex

Hello, I needed to see a bit more of the screen. However, probably a better option anyway is if you can save and send through the excel file. Thanks Alex

Hi Sean, I'll have a look and see if I can work it out, but if you can send through the Excel file that is being imported when you get that message it will help. Thanks, Alex

Hi Alex I too have had this issue today. When I choose to import the lab data, all I see are the "sample" csv files, and their respective "chemistry" csv file is not displayed in the "Select ESdat SAmple or Chemistry Result EDD File" window See attached screen shots and I've also attached a chemistry and sample file. Regards

Hi again Alex After a little more trial and error, it turns out the lab did not send us the chemistry data in the correct template. I copied the data into a blank chemistry template generated by ESdat, and all is now well.
